Tracye B. Davis was appointed Deputy Director at the VA Portland Health Care System on June 28, 2015. Ms. Davis is responsible for the health care system’s administrative operations and resource management. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Davis served as Associate Director at the VA Maine Healthcare System.
Ms. Davis began her VA career in 2004 at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) as a Fellow of the Graduate Healthcare Administration Training Program working primarily in the areas of quality management, patient safety, cultural transformation for dementia care, and compliance/business integrity. At the conclusion of her Fellowship in 2005, she became the Compliance Officer at the VAPHS, a position she held until relocating to Arlington, Texas in 2007 as the Strategic Planning Program Specialist for VISN 17. In 2008, Ms. Davis became the Executive Assistant to the Director at the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS), serving in that capacity for approximately five years. During her tenure at the VANTHCS, Ms. Davis also held interim roles as the Public Affairs Officer and Chief for a 224-bed Domiciliary.
Ms. Davis is a board certified health care executive and Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a graduate of VA’s 2011 Health Care Leadership Development Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and a Master of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
