Set up verification of proper performance is essential, particularly if video and animation is included in the presentation.

Provided for you:

  1. VA Network Computer (Media Support:  CD-R, DVD-R)

  2. Laser pointer with slide control

Audio/Visual & Hardware/Software Information

The provided computer will be Windows XP based PC with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007.  It is connected to a secured VA Network.  Network security is strictly enforced and only VA issued  USB Flash drive is allowed on VA Network computer.  To use the provided computer, please bring your presentation on a CD-R or DVD-R disk.  The computer will not support any writable or re-writable media.  Internet access will be available for your presentation only on VA network computer.

Macintosh Users:  Please make sure that all inserted pictures are either JPEG or PNG file-types. QuickTime (.mov) files are also an accepted video format.  Individuals using Apple Keynote will need to bring their files directly to the office to have them correctly transferred on to our system.

Acceptable Formats for Presentations:

  • PowerPoint (.ppt)
  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)

  • Flash (.swf)

Video Formats: The recommended video format for Windows-based presentations is Windows Media (.wmv). For more detailed information regarding fonts, sound, video, and general compatibility, refer to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/FX100648971033.aspx
  
You may use your hardware of choice to connect to the projector.  However, your presentation may not display properly because the project is calibrated to Desktop PC display specification.  You should still burn a backup copy on a CD-R or DVD-R of the presentation.  Please make sure you have plenty of time to set up, power cord, and the VGA video output adapter to connect to the VGA input of the projector.  Please feel free to contact us at 562.826.8139 if you have any questions or comments.
